Taking a helicopter view is also referred to as systems thinking, or to see the trees through the forest. You take a step back and out of the day to day challenges you are facing. This superskill helps you to operate at a more strategic level for your product portfolio. If you don’t do this regularly the risk is that you keep focusing on turning out fires and managing operational issues and at the end of the road conclude that you did not meet your goals.
